Περιγραφή προϊόντων
UL 719 Abrasion resistance tester of jacket on flat cable
UL 719 Abrasion resistance tester of jacket on flat cable 0
7.14 Abrasion resistance test of jacket on flat cable
7.14.1 Specimen Preparation
  • Six straight untwisted 15 inch or 380 mm specimens are to be cut from a sample length of finished cable
  • They are to be laid flat and parallel to one another on a flat horizontal steel plate
  • Specimens are to be individually secured in place at their ends
  • An abrasion tool consisting of a weighted solid steel right-circular cylinder with three parallel teeth is used
  • The tool is supported above each specimen with teeth perpendicular to the specimen's longitudinal axis
  • The support minimizes tool play during the abrasion process
7.14.2 Test Procedure
  • The plate with specimens is reciprocated horizontally in simple harmonic motion at 30 cycles per minute
  • Motion direction is parallel to the specimens' longitudinal axes
  • Stroke centers on abrasion tools with length of 6 inches or 150 mm
7.14.3 Test Execution
  • Test begins with plate at rest at either end of stroke
  • Stroke counter is set at zero at beginning of cycle
  • Weight is added to each abrasion tool to achieve 3 lbf ±0.5 ozf (13.34 ±0.14 N or 1.36 ±0.01 kgf) downward force
  • Tools are lowered gently onto specimens and reciprocation begins immediately
  • Test continues until:
    • One or more tools wear through outer covering, OR
    • 70 full cycles complete without any tool wearing through
  • Operator must be present to:
    • Observe wear
    • Brush away debris accumulation
    • Record number of strokes when jacket wears through (if applicable)
